Fed up of waiting for PDF files to open? Be frustrated no longer, for I have just discovered the delicious little program called Foxit Reader (new window). It’s less than 1Mb to download, opens super quick, and is free to download for personal use.
Foxit also offer some upgrades to be able to create and edit PDFs, which certainly appear to be cheaper than Adobe’s complex, slow to load offering.
I’d still recommend you keep Adobe Acrobat Reader (new window) installed, simply because it’s the official Adobe PDF reader, and you might just need it one day.
My current conundrum centres around getting my apartment cleaned. Being a man, living in Bangkok, and given the low cost of living out here, the thought of cleaning my own toilet bowl really seems too much for me!
I enquired at the reception in my apartment building and was told it would be 200 baht (£3 or $5) to clean the apartment once. But that really seems a bit steep given that I only want the floor mopped and the bathroom cleaned. So I’m enquiring with the woman that cleans our office, perhaps a deal can be done for a mere 500 baht a month!
Oh my life is so hard…
Fancy yourself as a creative professional? Have a love of all things Open Source and only use Firefox (new window) because it’s a superior browser? Well here’s the competition for you. Only a couple of weeks left, nothing like a tight deadline to get things moving! Check out Firefox Flicks (new window) a competition to produce a 30 second advert for Firefox the browser. Enjoy.
Google is available in a number of different languages, quite a large number in fact, but did you know they support the internationally recognised language of Elmer Fudd? Check out Google Preferences in Elmer Fudd (new window). If you click “Save Preferences”, it will actually change Google’s language, you have been warned…
I saw The Matador last night with Pierce Brosnan. I thought it was great, some good twists, I liked the story. Pierce Brosnan is good, it’s not his usual James Bond type role and he pulls it off well. Not much else to say about it really, I enjoyed the movie.
I found out today what the Billion Million Building company do, they sell toilet paper! Priceless!
I just discovered this little treasure round the corner from my apartment. Oh you’ve got to love it!
