Yes, there is a military coup going on right now in Thailand. I haven’t seen any military vehicles yet myself, but apparently they’re at all the major junctions. I’m facing something of a dilemna because, as it happens, I have a flight to London at 18:25 today. I wasn’t planning to use the ticket, I’m not planning to go home, but it might not be a bad idea in light of the coup.
It seems to be business as usual here in Bangkok, buses are running, shops are open, and so on. So for anyone worried, I’m ok! 
The BBC news says its business as usual. No reports of anything nasty going on. Even if there was I’m sure you’d benefit in some way!!
