Kath died a year ago today. My thoughts are with her family and friends. It’s strange to be back here on the neighbouring island at the same time.

We threw in the towel rather tamely around 3am, but having been out till 8am the night before, we’d had enough of beach partying. It won’t go down in history as the greatest new year ever, but it would be unfair to say I didn’t have fun.
Several bombs were detonated in Bangkok last night in advance of the new year celebrations. I was not in Bangkok and was not affected by the blasts. To the best of my knowledge, nobody I know was affected.
