Experiments in pressure cooking rice strike 2, success. Took a little longer than expected, but the rice is poptastic fantastic! Happy days.

  1. Would love to hear more detail on this, what kind of rice did you use and what recipe were you following?

I’m working on a rice in the pressure cooker article so I’ve researched most kinds and techniques!

making pressure cookers hip again, one recipe at a time!

    1. I put half a cup of water in the pressure cooker, put a metal dish with brown rice and 1.5 times water on a small stand inside the pot. Then cooked it for probably 20-25 minutes in total. The rice came out great. I cooked it in two sections because the first time it wasn’t sufficiently cooked. In total, with cooling time, it was about the same time as straight boiling rice, but it probably uses less energy. 🙂

  2. I think once you started cooking with a pressure cooker you will never stop. I love fresh meals, it better than anything you find in restaurants!
