  1. Kinda creepy tool that "enriches" data from users who enter email addresses into forms. It mines their social profiles, etc. Free for 100 contacts, then from $29/mth for 300 contacts per month, 10c each, not cheap.
  2. Hosted WordPress service which includes an affiliate program that pays 20% for the lifetime of the account, plans start from $10/month.
  3. Very useful page on configuring buddyPress through the wp-config equivalent bp-custom.php.
  4. WordPress plugin that appends a wikipedia (or other mediawiki site) entry to the bottom of a wp post / page. Uses ?action=render on the end of the url to get just the HTML for the article, not the site. Useful as a resource.
  5. Interesting article on the dangers of not keeping software patched, particularly with regards to open source content management systems.
  6. Scribe is an easy to use SEO tool that analyses content (blog posts, etc) and suggests ways to improve it based on SEO best practice. It also provides a keyword research tool that shows search volume for related keywords to the one entered. Useful. Pricey
  7. WordPress plugins that provides many of the features on for users. Interesting, certainly deepens Automattic's grip on the WordPress ecosystem.
  8. Spam filtering service with plugins for major blogging / CMS engines. Free account passes up to 100 comments per day, then pro accounts for €30 /month or $3'600 a year.
  9. The core WordPress / bbPress features broken out into their own (sort of) framework. Interesting if building something resembling WordPress but a little off-piste.
  10. Nice social bookmarking plugin for WordPress. Creates really slick pop-up icons that are half hidden and jump upwards on mouseover. Very cool. From (and maybe somebody called Josh Jones).
  11. Interesting write up by James at Incsub on how they handle scale on edublogs. Some good advice although a little light on specifics, a good starting point for research.
  12. A host your own url shortening service written by ozh, big into WordPress development. Needs to be installed in its own directory.
  13. WordPress focused hosting from Scot Birdhouse. He's built and released some tools to manage many wp sites from the shell.
  14. All sorts of goodies released under the GPL from the folks behind WordPress. Including jobs, stats stuff, mediawiki login integration, wpshell, and lots more.
  15. An interesting jQuery / Colorbox (aka Thickbox / Lightbox) plugin for WordPress. Integrates with the [gallery] shortcode automatically and has a few themes bundled. Might be bloaty.
  16. A funky site listing chocolate shops in London! A nice example of wordpress-geo-mashups in use.
  17. Lifestream plugin for WordPress that gives you a tumblr-esque activity stream aggregated from multiple locations. Slick.
  18. Ryan (core WP dev) Boren's post on taxonomy (category & tag) intersections and unions. WordPress has in-built support for complex include / exclude querying.
  19. TalkPress VIP is a bbPress forum hosting service from Automattic / Starts from $1'000/mth plus $1'500 setup. Application process, not all sites accepted, like VIP.
